Dining for Dementia

Dining for Dementia

A charity fundraising event seeking to end the pain and suffering affecting so many lives and families by helping to find a cure for dementia.

The organisers, Andrew McKinney Welch and Patrick Goldsworthy, have experienced firsthand the devastating effects of this disease on their own families.

The Queensland Brain Institute (QBI) based in Brisbane is the flagship neuroscience research institute at The University of Queensland (UQ) and a world-leader in brain research.

The funds raised at ‘Dining For Dementia’ will be directed towards critical work at QBI’s Clem Jones Centre for Ageing Dementia Research (CJCADR). The Centre is comprised of broad-based and multidisciplinary team of 100 researchers, focused on understanding dementia and developing disease-modifying treatments.

The goal is to solve the major health issue of dementia which is facing society, reducing the social, emotional and financial impacts on the community.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all of those in attendance, our incredibly generous Platinum and Silver Partners, our supporters who contributed auction items and items in-kind, purchased raffle tickets, gave donations, and our winning bidders of the Live and Silent Auction Items.

Your presence and support were invaluable as we strove to make a real difference in the fight against dementia with the proceeds from the evening supporting the Queensland Brain Institute.
